Media debate - "Is London a cultural 'Ghetto'

My personal opinion on this debate is that I believe London is seen as a cultural ghetto due to the stereotypical view of the youth, because it is the youth who mainly bring the knife crime etc into London mainly because this is how they are portrayed in the media. The riots is an example of the youth generation making London seem ghetto because they were just purposely breaking the law and began rioting and looting. The media also portrays London as being a cultural ghetto because daily on the news they have stories about teens committing crime. "Many of London's teenagers have been rioting because they 'lack hope' and 'feel let down by society'

Case Study text analysis

The video above is the trailer of the film 'Shank' which is one of my main text fro representation on London. The trailer makes clear who the institution are (Revolver entertainment) who also distributed other famous films such as Sherlock Holmes. Showing the the distributers connotes a well made film since revolver entertainment operates in both London and Los Angeles. Furthermore the fast camera movements relates to the target audience who are mainly teenagers because teens like their media to be fast and snappy since they don't like waiting.
